Corruption is Rampant - Get Yours or Get Out
That is the story in a nutshell. I was forced into this position by the liars and hypocrites above me who were corrupt. Now I am corrupt and find that I fit into the DMOZ culture better now than when I was honest.
I'm going to tell you everything I have done. I'm going to give you a blow by blow of every DMOZ inclusion I am paid to make. I will tell you how I shake people down, and punish those who refuse to pay me.
And how I must pay someone above me a cut of everything I take.

Brilliant!
I too am a DMOZ editor, though I haven't had any corruption yet, I do know how massively evil and egotistical the metas and category editors are. Bravo to you for exposing the dark underbelly of DMOZ.

I'm from the NMOZ Open Directory. I have added your site to NMOZ and even cooled it. Great Site!
Please send the remainder of the money you promised.
Thanks!

Even though the matters are serious, your blog cracks me up!
Do you guys know who to get in touch with at AOL Time Warner to bring the matters to their attention?
The wall of silence within DMOZ is too thick. The good editors are too scared.

I've got a request. It would clear up the question of whether or not this person is for real.
The editor rules prohibit editors from quoting threads. Just quote a post verbatim, and post a link to the thread. Now, of course non-editors won't be able to see it, but the editors will. This will answer the question and this person can keep his/her anonymity.

Great article, There is a new website that is created for the sole purpose of exposing the corruption and the damage that Dmoz and its editors can cause to hard-working site owners.
Check it out DmozSucks.org
We would love to hear any horror stories that anyone of you might have had in dealing with dmoz. Please share with us on the new forums.

in aheated exchange on the google support public forum (dmoz-get your act together) the following response was made by a DMOZ editor-
I am a DMOZ editor however i will not reveal my DMOZ category as
firstly i don't want the legal facists at www.silverstall.com sueing me
and secondly i do not wish to jepordise my editors post.
I found Bob's remarks deeply offensive and abusive. How dare he insult
a DMOZ editor. Is Bob stupid and niave enough to beleive that we all
work for nothing!! Its not our fault if Google are to tightass to pay
us. Of course we get commissions for SEO work and yes we do list our
clients sites - why not? we did the work!
I work damn hard and i am not stupid enough to do it for nothin. If a
company wants to pay me to change a / or put in a 'a' on a listed
site, thats there concern - not mine. Its no secret that editors get
paid for listing sites - what do you expect!!! theres an ol saying ..
'you get ought for nought' . wise up Bob i think its maybe you who
should get a life.
